The Remedy of Errors

The Remedy of Errors is a professional freelance proofreading service created by Hannah Jones.

We all make mistakes when writing and, when we read our work back, the eye often sees what it expects to be there and not what is actually there.

This is where I come in. I will proofread your work, correcting spelling and grammatical errors and ensuring that the style is consistent.

My method of proofreading is flexible: I can proofread blind or against copy, on paper or on screen, and I am fully proficient in using the British Standards Institution's proof-correction marks.

PDFs will be marked up in Adobe Acrobat, while Word documents will be annotated using the Track Changes feature, allowing each change to be accepted or rejected.

I have successfully completed the Basic Proofreading course from the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and achieved the grade of Distinction. The PTC states that this "indicates an exceptional level of ability".

As a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), I abide by their Code of Practice.

I offer proofreading services to publishers, independent authors, businesses and students.
